Will this repellent work with wasps?
Deet works by confusing the insect's receptors so they do not recognise you as food! However wasps aren't necessarily trying to hunt you down to feed on your blood but can pass by or you more likely you get in their way (!) so the use of a repellent could be limited.
How Does Deet Work?
Deet works by confusing a mosquito or other biting insect's receptors which are usually used to find humans and other animals. Consequently they will leave you alone. Some of our insect repellents also contain natural insecticides which helps stop mosquitoes or insects biting should they land on you by accident.
Does deet only come in a spray?
No, we sell a range of deet based products to help protect you including bands, wipes and roll ons.
How strong is this insect repellent?
The strongest you can buy! The majority of insect repellents use deet as their main ingredient and the more deet there is the stronger and more effective the repellent. With 100% deet you are getting the highest protection possible!
How much repellent do I need for a 2 week holiday?
We generally advise 60ml per person per week. However this can vary depending on whether the insects are out all day and how much skin you will have showing! It's always best to have more than you need as in some destinations it can be difficult to purchase good quality insect repellent.
Do you need to reapply repel 100 after you have been swimming in a swimming pool or the sea
Yes all insect repellents will need to be reapplied after swimming or showering as the repellent will be washed off.
How long will Repel 100 stay effective after opening?
Repel 100 will be effective indefinitely, in fact, the bottle will degrade after a number of years before the repellent is ineffective!
